Kylian Mbappé might only be 21 now, but the Paris Saint-Germain footballer is already considered one of the best in the world.
In honour of the young talented soccer player's birthday, we gathered five interesting facts about his life and career.
1. Birth and parents
Mbappé was born in Paris, France, on 20 December 1998 to Wilfried Mbappé and Fayza Lamari. His dad, who acts as his agent, hails from Cameroon and is a football coach.

According to Wikipedia, Mbappé's mother, Fayza Lamari, is a former handball player who is of Algerian origin.
2. Talent runs in the family
Aside from his parents - who both have some connection to sport - Mbappé's younger brother, Ethan, plays for PSG under-12s.

4. Going pro as a teen
Mbappé now plays as a forward at Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team. However, his professional career started at Monaco at the tender age of 16.
Last year, the 21-year-old opened up about the sacrifices he made as a teen to focus on football in an interview with Time.
He was quoted saying: "I did not have the moments of so-called normal people during adolescence, like going out with friends, enjoying good times."

According to Goal.com, Mbappé has an estimated net worth of €20.7 million. The talented footballer is not only making money for himself, but any club looking to buy him will also have to spend some serious cash.
From a transfer value perspective by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), the 21-year-old is considered the world's most expensive player.
